Had a lovely week here. My Dad loved the fishing. Lots of wildlife. Brilliant base for trips to the seaside and to see the Suffolk countryside. Very well-equipped accommodation. Lovely owners! Will come again!

We had the perfect long weekend away with Badwell Ash Holiday Lodges, and we can't recommend them enough. We stayed in the Damsel Shepherd's Hut, which was perfect; the hut itself is incredibly well-made, with little nooks for anything you might need, and Will and Sarah have thought of everything, so the hut is perfectly stocked. The setting, next to a little fishing lake, is beautiful, and there are nice walks to a local pub. We loved the hot tub and sauna, the wood-burner in the hut, and had the cosiest, perfect anniversary bank holiday weekend. Will and Sarah are ideal hosts - really clear, communicative and generous. The hamper they provided was full of really lovely local food, they had great local advice, and we felt really well looked-after. They even left us a very sweet anniversary card on arrival - just the kind of personal touch we really appreciated. We had the best time, and would go back again in a heartbeat.

We had a wonderful stay at Badwell Ash. The lodge was beautifully presented and very well equipped. The hot tub was nice. Fishing in the main lake was good, but don't expect to bag up. The fish you catch are in good condition. The owners Will and Sarah made us very welcome.

My wife booked this little gem for my birthday present back in November 2020. We finally got to visit in August 2021 due to COVID restrictions. It’s a great place to relax. I fished for 3/4 days and enjoyed it very much. As a pleasure angler it suited me well. A variety of fish roach,Rudd, perch, bream, tench and also a nice size carp on light tackle(10.lbs) The lodge we stayed in was “woodpecker” it was so nice, my wife relaxed buy the lake and indoors when any light rain showers came over. Very well equipped pine lodge and hot tub made this a great chilled weekend. Star gazing in the hot tub with bats flying around was also a highlight. Some great pubs recommended by our hosts made for very little washing up, which is a bonus. All in all a great weekend.

Wow! This place is a hidden gem in Suffolk and offers a very warm welcome and comfortable stay. The four Lodges are carefully nestled in well established fishing lakes with lots of trees. The owners are lovely and the presentation of our lodge was just perfect with everything you need and including some groceries and treats in the fridge. I'll definitely be back.

My wife booked a lodge to stay for 3 nights for birthday celebrations. We stayed with friends as the lodge sleeps 4. Our lodge , Heron, comes equipped with a fully fitted kitchen, including dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, double oven, hob, kettle and toaster. There’s plenty of crockery and cutlery including picnic glasses and cups if you wanted to venture further out! The bathroom was kitted out to an equally high standard with heated towel rail, heater, and the shower was a very technical, multi-jet, multi-shower head affair with steamer, radio and lots of places to put your toiletries. The bedrooms included vanity and wardrobe. Ours had a large four poster bed. Windows opened to provide plenty of fresh air. The living room included fan, floorlamp, widescreen tv, set top box. And if you fancied bird watching, a bird book and binoculars was included. Outside there was a gas fired BBQ, and 4 seater rattan and table, big enough for outside dinning. But the icing on the cake was the hot tub. Big enough for 4 adults, was well used every evening. Everywhere was cleaned to the highest standard. There was plenty of towels, robes, slippers etc. A welcome hamper was provided, generous to say the least. My wife had let the owners that it was my birthday, for which ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY’ bunting adorned the wooden beams in the lounge - nice touch. This was accompanied with a hand written birthday card from the owners! The lake outside is perfect for keen or first time anglers - with a catch and throwback policy. Will, one of the owners, offered to help us set up rods etc too. There is a swing next to the decking, benches next to the lake for lunching. There is an on-site small shop for souvenirs, additional supplies. Bury St-Edmunds is approx 20 mins away by car. The site is approx 2 hours from London(south east) or less buy car. There are plenty of local pubs and restaurants and places to walk and/visit locally. To be honest, I couldn’t fault our visit. Both Wills & Sarah’s hospitality was warm and welcoming as you could get. Our whole stay was a perfect short get-away as you could hope for. If all staycations could be this good, you’d never leave the country - except maybe for the wars there! I’d fully recommend Badwell Ash lodges for a holiday. I’m sure we’ll be heading back for another stay!

Booked this for a short 4 night R&R break. Exceeded expectation, ordered the BBQ pack and huge fruit basket and was greeted midway through stay with a lemon drizzle cake. Have t fished in 3 years but had great fun catching a few modest Bream, Roach and Rudd. Nightime hottub with a glass of wine idealic! Steam shower a must.
